Service & Maintenance

Eventually you will need service. Here is what you can expect.

Service

Gas Service,  Diagnostics and Repair

When you call or email us with a problem that you are having with your stove or fireplace, please have the make and model of your appliance available. If we've installed it, there is a good chance that we'll have that information in our database. Expect the person who answers to ask many specific questions directed at getting to the root of the problem. We do this for two reasons: one, to possibly diagnose and fix the problem over the phone, and more importantly, to get all the information to our service people so they have a better idea of what they can expect when they stop out.

Many problems can be diagnosed and fixed in one visit. Occasionally we will require a second trip when we need additional parts. There will be additional charges for the extra trip and parts.

Prices

Surcharges will apply if: it's a complex gas model, it has a power vent, two people are needed, any repair parts are needed, a return trip is needed, and/or it is farther than 30 miles away.

Maintenance

Every fireplace needs regular service to maintain optimum efficiency and guaranteed continued safety.

Woodburning

Inspect the system for leaks or deterioration. Check all gaskets and seals on the unit for air tightness. Insure that all manufacturer installed safety devices are working properly. Clean and inspect the blower system (if there is one). Clean the glass and lubricate moving parts where appropriate. Touch up black painted surfaces as needed. Currently we are not sweeping chimneys. For that service, please contact a Certified Chimney Sweep through CSIA.org.

Insure that all manufacturer installed safety devices are working properly. Test all options such as fan, thermostat, or remote control. Test the millivolt system. Clean and inspect the blower system (if there is one). Clean the glass, the log set, and burner venturi. Test for gas leaks or other spillage. Replace all batteries.
